Il Bugiardo II, Pinocchio, original painting acrylic on canvas, 90 x 145 cm
Everybody knows this little lovable guy! The children's book written by Carlo Collodi in 1883 became a world bestseller. The wooden doll of the carpenter Antonio, which was awakened to life in an unrecognizable way, unfortunately had the habit that his nose became long when he lied. This model has always seduced artists to paint or draw the wooden doll Pinocchio in different situations and poses.
Born in Sardinia, the artist "Gepetto" studied art and illustration at the Istituto d'Arte in Bologna and has since worked as a painter and illustrator in his studio in Cagliari. He also dedicated himself to Pinocchio and created an impressive series of Pinocchioblides in acrylic on canvas.
The work shown here is one of a series of colourful original paintings that cut a fine figure not only on the children's room wall.
