What characteristics should the light source of my ceiling lamp have?
Several factors are decisive for the choice of the suitable light source: the placement of the ceiling lamp, for example, plays a decisive role. If, for example, the luminaire is to be used in your living room, you should select a model with a warm light temperature. This creates a cosy atmosphere. The decisive indicator for this is the Kelvin value - the higher, the whiter the light. The brightness, on the other hand, is described by the so-called lumen value. The higher, the brighter. In the kitchen, study or hallway in particular, you should therefore choose a lamp with a high lumen value.
How do I clean and maintain my ceiling lamp?
Before you start cleaning your ceiling lamp, it is advisable to switch it off. Even better, turn off the power completely. After all, safety comes first. In general, it is quite sufficient to dust off ceiling lamps in a two-week rhythm. In order to maintain the shine of your ceiling lamp permanently, you should clean it every six months with distilled water. It is best to add a small amount of detergent to the water. Tip: Ceiling luminaires that are increasingly exposed to water vapour, for example in the bathroom or kitchen, require special attention. Since the water vapour ensures that the dust adheres particularly well, you should become active here in shorter cycles.
If the lampshade is made of fabric, a lint-free dust cloth is usually sufficient. Alternatively, you can also vacuum the dust at the lowest level. For particularly stubborn dirt, it is best to use a damp dust cloth.
